Almost 25 years of activity as researcher in experimental Physics. Fields of expertise: photoemission spectroscopy, solid state physics, physics of superconductors, surface physics, physics of semiconductors. More than 50 publications in peer reviewed journals. Activities in several Research Infrastructures: the ELETTRA Synchrotron for about 10 years but also i.e. at Aladin in Madison (USA) and LURE in Paris.
From 2008 I have worked for the EC as a SNE for more than 4 years. Activities: preparation of Work Programmes (Research Potential and Regions of Knowledge). In teamwork with an official, I managed more than 30 FP7 projects including negotiations and evaluations phases. Assistance to the development of the regional dimension of RTD policy, liaison with the Structural Funds interventions (DG REGIO). EC representative in the ESFRI working group dealing with regional issues.
From April 2012, I am working in Rome at the Ministry for Education, University and Research. My activity is concentrated on policies for supporting Research Infrastructures. I worked on the latest strategic documents: the National Research Programme for Research and the National Plan for Research Infrastructures. Moreover, I am deeply involved in supporting ERICs. I represent Italy in most of the International Boards established to pave the way for ERIC establishments (Chairing some of them) and I am the Italian Delegate in several General Assemblies or Councils of ERICs.
