Axel Börsch-Supan has been Director of the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy, Munich since 2011. Previously, he was Professor of Economics at Mannheim University. He is a member of various professional bodies, including the American Econometric Association, the Econometric Society, Social Policy Association, and the German Statistical Society.
Mr Börsch-Supan has extensive experience as a consultant for various international organisations, such as the European Commission, OECD, the World Bank, the German government and McKinsey & Co. His areas of interest are econometric analysis of labour supply, retirement and saving behaviour. He is also the author of several publications in these fields.
